Overview:

This overview and training will be offered in person and online. It is for Chief Operating Officers, Chief Financial Officers, Practice Managers & Administrators, and Billing Managers & Supervisors. It will assist with physician consults with regards to their medical practice and maximizing/recovering claim denials. Program objectives include learning:

more about insurance barriers to assisting filing complaints with regulators.

best practices in basic contract negotiations and reimbursement issues.
how to raise systemic issues to national levels and working with various agencies such as the AMA.
how to analyze concerns to identify if they are State or federal issues.
how to assist with any barriers with day-to-day operations.

Since 2021, the Medical Society of the State of New York has secured millions in unpaid claims for our physicians from medical insurance providers. These victories have led to much financial relief for sole practitioners, and it is a vital service that the MCMS provides through MSSNY.

The MCMS would like to formally introduce you to Heather Lopez, Director of Physician Payment & Practice, who is essential in delivering these victories for our physicians. Heather comes to MSSNY after a long career in the St. Mary’s healthcare system, where she honed her skills in practice management, billing, and reimbursement.

The MCMS has engaged with Ms. Lopez to share her expertise with our members her assistance in practice management, CPT/ICD10 coding, contract negotiation, billing, insurance barriers, and reimbursement methodology.
