Addiction Medicine Committee

The Addiction Medicine Committee is a specialty committee of the Monroe County Medical Society that meets fives times annually to discuss topics of educational interest in the field of addiction medicine and addiction psychiatry. The Addiction Medicine Committee strives to involve the Monroe County Medical Society membership in prevention programs and treatment, as well as intervention and rehabilitation initiatives aimed at patients with addictions and abuse diagnoses.

Medical Scholarship
Attempts to raise funds to provide a scholarship for at least four medical students in
the Rochester area and to raise additional funds for low interest loans to students in
the Rochester area attending medical school. This is an effort to show medical
students of this area that physicians care and are concerned about the high cost
of medical education. We are particularly concerned with helping those students
who have essentially no help from home and whose needs are demonstrated to be maximal.
